Project Brief

In this project, I was assigned to find a way to promote a retail experience at a public event. This project is to show that promoting a product is not limited to advertisement, it can branch as an experience. This challenged me to look at the different points of view of promoters, marketers, and consumers. 

Prompt: Levi's is doing a tie-in with the Outside Lands concert. The concert promoters have agreed to give access to one or two performers. Suggest an experience that your brand can do at this event.

In this project, I was assigned to find a way to promote a retail experience at a public event. Denim uses lots of water, Levi's replaces this process by using hemp thread that is designed to be recycled.

I mapped out in detail the journey of the customer based on my third concept in the storyboarding process.  Similar to a storyboard, an experience map outlines the end-to-end experience of a product, articulating key insights, actions, touchpoints, goals, and feelings of a user.

This project is to show that promoting a product is not limited to advertisement, it can branch as an experience.

Entering into this project I realized that experience design was a field that made me excited to work in. 

I enjoy going to events and living memorable experiences, this helped me recognize who the target audience is that would appreciate an experience like this one, while also tapping into my creative abilities as an interaction designer. I would be grateful to be a part of the work that goes behind it.  

The enjoyment I put into making this project helped me go beyond the deliverable expectations such as creating a 3D mockup of the booth.

My next steps would be creating an advertisement video to communicate better with my target audience on what's expected from this experience.
